Position Overview:

Linde is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Production Technician to join our team in Fort Dodge, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a Liquid Carbon Dioxide Production Plant. You’ll perform a variety of tasks including equipment operation, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to operational excellence.

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift, with weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor Liquid CO2 equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, process diagrams, and one-line drawings.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and troubleshooting of process analyzers and control systems.
  • Conduct mechanical maintenance and light electrical/instrumentation repairs.
  • Monitor process performance and adjust to maintain product quality and efficiency.
  • Safely troubleshoot and maintain rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, fans, and valves.
  • Operate forklifts and man-lifts as needed.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual compliance and inspection tasks.
  • Execute equipment isolations, lockout/tagout procedures, and issue permits for maintenance work.
  • Drive company vehicle to perform pipeline locates and other field tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and other departments.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools.
  • Strong electrical and instrumentation aptitude and hands-on experience with tools.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Process Technology, Instrumentation, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial production or plant operations.
  • Experience with instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with control systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
