Job Summary
Dorman Products is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team on our weekend shift - Friday through Sunday, 6AM to 6PM. As a Production Supervisor, you will coordinate and oversee all the production activities of 20+ of our contributors to ensure that customer commitments are met with quality and delivery.
Primary Duties
- Review daily production schedule and ensure demands are met through proper scheduling of work
- Provide leadership, communication and expectations for employees
- Ensure employees are trained and have appropriate tools to perform job
- Periodically review the work of employees to ensure adherence to quality standards and work instructions. Has authority to stop production to correct any quality problems.
- Evaluate employee performance to achieve a high level of output, write performance reviews and corrective actions
- Ensure employees are aware of and provided with proper protective equipment and trained on chemical use and emergency exits in the department
- Review data and trends on production and recommend continuous improvement activities
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
- Contact OES/Maintenance to resolve equipment issues
- Prepare and enter data into and review information in CMS, ADP and Training Manager
- Participate in recruitment activities by interviewing and selecting staff
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities.
Qualifications
- Advanced education desired
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Strong communication and reasoning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Understanding of lean manufacturing methods
- Broad knowledge of quality control and production methods
- Microsoft Office and ERP experience
Education / Experience
- Three years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
