Job Description
As a Production Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to foster a safe and productive work environment, ensure timely delivery, manage costs, develop teams, reward performance, and promote a positive culture. This role involves overseeing the Solid Wire Business Unit across multiple shifts and reporting to the Troy Operations Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve superior team safety awareness through OPX and develop corrective actions for safety concerns.
- Lead, train, mentor, coach, and develop Team Lead and production team members to have positive and proactive attitudes, personal accountability, superior manufacturing quality, and encouraging ownership of operations, products, and processes.
- Effective communication and cooperation with production members are vital to maintaining high equipment efficiency and product quality standards.
- Work with internal departments to improve the manufacturing environment for customer needs.
- Drive customer service within all areas of the department.
- Act as a technical resource to team members, peers, and customers.
- Achieve business goals and objectives by involving employees in quality, delivery, and productivity initiatives. Additionally, they will promote empowerment and ITW principles, including 80/20 efforts.
- Provide reports on critical information and proposals to act on data effectively.
- Involvement with capital expenditures, budget, and financial support
- Skilled at recognizing ways to reduce downtime and enhance existing procedures proactively.
- Identify and assess cost-saving prospects, develop implementation plans, and lead toolbox projects within operations.
- Ensure that staffing levels are maintained for all shifts to meet business requirements by consistently collaborating with Human Resources and external agencies and adhering to internal policies.
- Manage time and attendance (Dayforce) for hourly team members.
- Performance management, including preparing and administering performance reviews and ongoing individual coaching.
- Disciplinary management, investigating and implementing corrective measures based on internal policies supported by HR and operations management.
- Responsible for shift coordination and scheduling priorities to ensure safe and efficient operations based on demand.
- Build relationships, be visible, communicate, encourage creativity and innovation.
- Effective communication across all shifts and levels of the organization.

Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Business
- 1 to 3 years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing a multi-shift operation preferred.
- Flexible work schedule capable of meeting the needs of a multiple-shift, 24-hour operation.
- Proven ability to apply ITW principles in manufacturing, safety compliance, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Standards.
- Utilize the ITW Toolbox (80/20, PLS, MRD, USa) to foster continuous improvement of people, processes, and products
- Contributes to the strategic direction of the business.
- Demonstrated understanding of the P&L statement
- Proven problem-solving skills, including analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Prioritize customer needs when working with stakeholders and recognize how different aspects of the business work together to support them.
- Exhibit encouragement of diverse ideas, focus on coaching/developing team members’ strengths and facilitate effective communication between shifts.
- Skilled at performance management, providing formal and informal feedback to employees.
- Positive leader and team player who takes accountability, coaches others, listens actively, remains approachable, and resolves issues promptly.
- Must be self-driven and able to motivate others, identify needs and show the ability to make things happen with little supervision.
- Strong computer (Microsoft Office), oral and written communication skills, and prior experience with the Route Card system is a plus.
