Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily activities of their team on the production floor.
  • Responsible for the Safety culture and results of their team; drives safety improvements.
  • Enforcing all company policies and plant rules, to include but not limited to problem solving, development & implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures that quality processes are followed. Ensures product meets specifications; resolves quality, service & cost issues.
  • Recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and safety environment in the workplace.
  • Resolving personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action which includes administering discipline, corrective action and coaching as needed.
  • Supporting operations through development of daily schedules, allocating labor, and adjusting as needed based on resources.
  • Manage daily schedule to ensure proper staffing levels to include periods of vacations and holidays to meet production needs.
  • Oversee and participate in the interview/selection process of hiring.
  • Ensures department shift personnel receive appropriate training and orientation to enable them to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform employee evaluations, providing feedback and development as needed.
  • Manages time and attendance on a daily basis; approval of payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Partner with HR to ensure established policies, procedures, or processes are enforced and direct reports are accountable for their work and action.
  • Analyze performance of equipment, personnel and shift for improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or 3 years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of management
  • Bilingual Spanish highly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience, especially in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate computer skills with the ability to perform more complex computer tasks
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires
  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this role
