Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is hiring for Second Shift Production Supervisor. In this role you are responsible for leading all manufacturing operations during the second shift within a chemical-based medical device production environment. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for the facility during off-hours, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of medical devices used in patient treatment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who can operate autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and guide a team through challenges in real time.
**This role is 2nd shift 4pm-12:30am M-F**

What You will do:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10–15 production associates

  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Provide clear direction and decision-making support during shift operations

  • Address personnel issues, performance concerns, and team dynamics as needed

Operational Ownership

  • Serve as the on-site leader for all second shift operations

  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and cleanroom standards

  • Ensure all products meet quality specifications and regulatory requirements

  • Partner with Quality teams to address deviations, non-conformances, and investigations

Technical Troubleshooting & Decision-Making

  • Provide real-time technical support for production issues and equipment challenges

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance when escalation is needed

  • Make informed decisions to minimize downtime and maintain throughput

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains

  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives

What You will have:

  • Technical degree (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field)

  • Previous experience in a team lead, supervisor, or similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and lead without direct oversight

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production equipment

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What will set You apart:

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing

  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments and GMP regulations

  • Experience working in chemical manufacturing or regulated industries
