Basic Job Functions:

The Production Day Supervisor will serve as a leader responsible for ensuring Nucor Steel Louisiana upholds its commitment to being the world’s safest steel company. This role leads and develops a skilled and motivated team to achieve excellence in safety, quality, cost, productivity, reliability, scheduling, profitability, and teammate development. The Production Supervisor must be a visible and active champion of the Nucor culture and is expected to inspire, engage, and align with the broader division leadership team. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of chemical manufacturing operations experience
• 3 years of leadership experience 
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work day shift with possible rotations based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent team building, problem-solving, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in and lead diverse teams
• Track record of consistently demonstrating collaborative and inclusive leadership skills as well as a positive influence, with accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, quality, productivity, and people development
• Ability to provide innovative solutions to improve processes and eliminate unscheduled downtime continuously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights when conditions warrant
