PROD. TEAM LEAD - Carrollton, TX

OVERVIEW:
The Production Team Lead is responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations progress smoothly. They directly supervise and mentor production associates in day-to-day operations and recommend improvements in production methods and procedures. The team lead ensures department compliance with company policies and procedures, and Federal, State, and Local regulations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead team members by providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support, and advice.
  • Ensure all proper Safety and production procedures are followed.
  • Trouble shoot equipment and provide guidance to meet company standards on quality and performance.
  • Encourage and demonstrate dedicated teamwork and supportive attitudes between team members and other departments.
  • Ensure standards for the department meet or exceed production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Find, investigate, and resolve any quality or production issues encountered in the department.
  • Ensure production schedule is maintained and communicate with interrelated departments if off-track.
  • Help team members by coaching and training them in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Help to maintain the organization’s lean and continuous improvement methodology by identifying and removing waste in the process.
  • Perform inspections and conduct routine audits of work areas for compliance to safety, sanitation, and quality requirements.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing/production environment required.
  • Leadership experience preferred.

QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN II

OVERVIEW:

Performs standardized tests to ensure product complies with company, customer, and government specifications and requirements by performing assigned duties. In general, to assist the QA department to ensure all quality and Food Safety & Food Quality related programs and procedures are met.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Monitors production lines to ensure the product is within specification and all critical control points and critical quality points are met.  If deviation occurs, a corrective action must be taken.
  • Check all product codes prior to production, during production, and after any code change.
  • Verify all scales prior to startup with certified weights and record data.
  • Print and pass out quality production paperwork.
  • Assist in daily sifter tailing inspections and escalate findings when needed.
  • Lead a product sensory review twice a shift with production for currently running products.
  • Review daily lab paperwork and report any deviations.
  • Gather and organize daily production paperwork for review.
  • Perform daily review of packaging activity papers for holds and quality. Disposition of product accordingly and subsequent positive release via online program.
  • Complete all sample requests.
  • Prepare first production samples for review.  Verify labels for lot code dates and allergens.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and troubleshoot lab equipment/instruments. 
  • Performs internal audits under the guidance of QA lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform all sanitation, food safety, and food quality inspections prior to startup of each production day.
  • Works with production when there are quality issues. And lead root cause investigations.
  • Collect and retain samples of daily production and store them for future reference.
  • Verify metal detectors and checkweighers daily.
  • Inspect line equipment before start-up and after cleaning/maintenance. Complete appropriate forms and tags.
  • Assist R&D with new production sampling and testing.
  • Responsible for logging correct and accurate data for all testing done on production runs.
  • Proficient with computers and has the ability to use Microsoft Office and enter data into software such as DeaCom.
  • Maintain and file all records according to company policy.
  • Work with management to ensure accurate information is being documented in the production of the products and assist with Food Safety and Quality-related issues.
