SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Production Coordinator works as a part of a team that coordinates the daily activities of workers, production, processes, and conformance to quality standards. The Production Coordinator’s assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity.

ENVIRONMENT:
- Noise level requires hearing protection
- Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity
- Elevated heights
- Fumes or airborne particles
- Toxic or caustic chemicals
- Must be able and willing to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure employees comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
- Delegate work of employees and oversee training
- Regular/dependable attendance required
- Flexibility of work hours including overtime
- Use of hand tools and machinery is required
- Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
- Responsible for knowledge of various aspects of scheduling
- Basic 5s requirements such as managing aisle integrity, shadow boards, foot prints, and hour by hour boards
- Responsible for assisting in the on-boarding process and cross-training of employees
- Accountable for two-way communication with Supervisor and management regarding the performance of employees and the department
- Must be able to work as a part of a team to work toward the greater good of the department by coordinating and communicating production needs between shifts
- Must be able to assist the Production Supervisor with coaching and documentation as well as keep the Supervisor informed of employee and line issues.
- Participates in AFSs Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Manufacturing experience is preferred.
