Production Lead I, 1st shift - Subframe

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Production Coordinator works as a part of a team that coordinates the daily activities of workers, production, processes, and conformance to quality standards.  The Production Coordinator’s assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity.

ENVIRONMENT:

• Noise level requires hearing protection
• Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity
• Elevated heights
• Fumes or airborne particles
• Toxic or caustic chemicals
• Must be able and willing to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure employees comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
• Delegate work of employees and oversee training
• Regular/dependable attendance required
• Flexibility of work hours including overtime
• Use of hand tools and machinery is required
• Must be able to work well with little or no supervision
• Responsible for knowledge of various aspects of scheduling
• Basic 5s requirements such as managing aisle integrity, shadow boards, foot prints, and hour by hour boards
• Responsible for assisting in the on-boarding process and cross-training of employees
• Accountable for two-way communication with Supervisor and management regarding the performance of employees and the department
• Must be able to work as a part of a team to work toward the greater good of the department by coordinating and communicating production needs between shifts
• Must be able to assist the Production Supervisor with coaching and documentation as well as keep the Supervisor informed of employee and line issues.
• Participates in AFSs Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Manufacturing experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift 70-100 pounds; grip 70 pounds, pinch 20 pounds, push 65 pounds; pull 118 pounds.
