Summary

The Production Control Analyst will contribute to the support of the NJ MMIS Project and upcoming new initiatives in an IBM zOS mainframe environment over multiple LPARs. This includes initializing new environments, analysis, testing, running jobs and processes, and utilizing expertise and based on the experience requirements listed below.

Your role in our mission

  • Analyze, plan, and manage mainframe operational activities in development, production, and test environments.
  • Analyze, develop, test, and operate file transfer workflows both internally and externally using various tools.
  • Responsible for ensuring overnight batch processing is complete so that Daily Online activities commence according to schedule. Monitor the execution of jobs and adjust production schedules for timely delivery.
  • Perform changes to schedules to ensure optimal use of mainframe resources.
  • Analyze operational issues and application abends, analyze root causes, derive solutions, and take corrective actions following documented procedures.
  • Work closely with Programmers and Business Analysts to solve issues, complete projects, and deploy new functionality.
  • Interpret functional requirements, technical specifications, and application design documents to understand application interdependencies and job flows.
  • Identify areas of improvement and maintain documentation as per existing process.

What we're looking for

  • Mainframe production control activity experience including job scheduling using Control-M for z/OS and project code promotions using ISPW.
  • Strong experience with TSO/ISPF, JCL, VSAM, CICS, COBOL, and SYNCSORT.
  • Ability to work independently from home while communicating and interacting remotely.
  • Experience using business tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Office, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The pay range for this position is $55,600.00 - $79,400.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
