OnsiteCollins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA, is seeking a Production Associate III- Team Lead for our Canopy cell line. This individual will lead and coach in an operations environment. The ideal candidate will provide direction to skilled employees and lead efforts to improve employee engagement and continuous improvement. They will also work towards improving safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through various systems. Effective communication, project management, and execution with support group members are key to the success of this role.
Our facility manufactures and tests explosive, propellant, and cartridge-actuated devices. From small, discrete devices to canopy removal systems, our facilities support a nearly unlimited selection of products. We know what’s at stake every day when we come to work. This position will work onsite in Fairfield, CA.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $27.25 per hour starting rate (1.5x per hour after 8 hours per day)*

Schedule:
- This position is for 1st Shift
- Monday – Friday, with typical hours from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., though shifts may also be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Overtime is available and/or mandatory on a business need basis.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of 8-12 people.
- Help the team with problem solving by working with engineering, management, and other cell departments to apply real time problem resolution.
- Maintain status of jobs leaving and entering cell
- Maintain accurate inventory of cell.
- Capture and record data of issues within cell
- Be able to speak to the work of the cell to management during Tier meetings.
- Read and understand manufacturing procedures and blueprints.
- Follow written and verbal instruction.
- Report all incidents to Supervisor.
- Prepare work orders and data sheets for processing.
- Periodically perform routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes included in aircraft component assembly.
- Trouble shoot and solve basic production issues without Supervisor direction.
- Actively support compliance with EH&S policies and regulatory requirements
- Communicate professionally and effectively.
- Efficient in training others
- Run Tier meetings as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
- HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.
