The wastewater/tanker operator is responsible for maintaining and operating the wastewater system while also ensuring all in bound bulk material is sampled and unloaded into the correct tanks.

JOB SUMMARY:
The wastewater/tanker operator is responsible for maintaining and operating the wastewater system while also ensuring all in bound bulk material is sampled and unloaded into the correct tanks.

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year experience in an industrial environment
Preferred: 2+ years in a chemical production environment

POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification
Required:

  • Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the US
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Project a professional appearance with the ability to represent our company in a positive manner to our customers and associates
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Ability to organize and maintain a safe and clean work environment

CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)

  • Wear mandatory PPE at all times.
  • Use forklift to retrieve and stage chemicals used for wastewater treatment.
  • Understand how to hook up and use a diaphragm pump.
  • Pull and prep samples for testing Zinc.
  • Have knowledge of the perimeters set for the wastewater system and understand how to trouble shoot and adjust to meet those perimeters and to keep the system operating.
  • Be able to operate the wastewater system in automatic and manual.
  • Keep the pit tanks and drains clean of debris and trash.
  • Complete truck unloading log and manufacturing log documentation in compliance with company requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure that all drivers sign in and follow all safety requirements.
  • Ensure that every tanker is sampled and unloaded into the correct tank.
  • Verify that there is adequate room in the bulk tanks before unloading tankers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and dry work area at all times.
  • Complete other duties and special projects upon request.
