About the role
Job Overview: The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) will be responsible for the messaging, marketing, and go-to-market launch process for their portfolio of products. The PMM will develop a deep knowledge of the market, our customers, and the competitive landscape. The PMM will also work cross-departmentally to ensure alignment across marketing, sales, and product stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop value-based product messaging that resonates with customers and nests in our company, persona, and solution positioning.
- Own marketing’s role in product launches, demonstrating exceptional execution and project management. Partner with product strategy to create value-based positioning, impactful collateral, and success metrics for each launch.
- Deeply understand our customers and lead the company in translating the voice of the customer into core product messaging.
- Develop and own core product collateral, including factsheets, brochures, videos, website copy, self-guided demos, case studies, sales decks, and infographics.
- Work collaboratively with customer marketing to ensure messaging consistency across retention, relationship, upsell, and migration motions and develop collateral to support customer campaigns.
- Partner closely with demand gen to build new logo and cross-sell campaigns that target market problems and drive buyer urgency.
- Conduct research and partner closely with internal SMEs to develop expertise in market trends and industry shifts to establish the company as a thought leader in our space.
- Continually build knowledge of the competitive landscape and maintain relevant, insight-rich battlecards for sales.
- Lead cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment across sales, marketing, and product.
- Bachelor’s in business, marketing, or communications
- 5+ years marketing experience, with 2-3 in product marketing specifically
- Experience with inbound and outbound marketing and advertising (Examples: email, social media, SEO, SEM, ad placement, direct mail, trade shows and conferences)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
- Able to work at a computer and monitor (sitting and standing) for extended periods
- Ability to lift 25Lbs
- Able to work additional hours during the week after hours and on the weekend with 24-7 on-call status
- Able to travel frequently and efficiently across a large geographic territory, with little down-time between periods of travel
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds of weight (non-typical but necessary for tradeshow setup)
- Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other work-related activities.
- Ability to interact with employees and leaders on sensitive subjects and appropriately disagree and/or challenge a situation.
- Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe; manage various detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives; satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
- Ability to operate telephone equipment and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
- Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending
- Ability to use a keyboard and computer. This requirement involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
- Ability to travel by auto or commercial transportation up to 20% same day and overnight to carry out essential responsibilities.
- Ability to speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to the job.
