Reporting to the Business Director, Intermediates at our Houston office, you will drive the strategic and operational direction of the Acids and Specialties products in your portfolio. Leveraging your collaboration and communication skills, you will act as the key interface to Sales, Customer Care, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, R&D, Product Stewardship and Legal in North America (US, Mexico, Canada).Your analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities will allow you to optimize the profitability of your product portfolio, which currently represents ca. $70M sales based on an asset at our biggest North American production site at Geismar, LA, and selected imports from production facilities in Europe and Asia.

As a Product Manager, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Managing the product portfolio to deliver returns above cost of capital and drive business strategy execution, with full accountability for pricing, margin expansion, and profitability.
  • Understanding regional market economics, growth, and competitive dynamics, translating insights into forward-looking portfolio and investment strategies.
  • Leading regional commercial and development strategies, owning end-to-end delivery of product positioning, business plans, and financial outcomes.
  • Influencing and aligning the sales organization on pricing, positioning, negotiations, and customer strategies to ensure execution of enterprise-wide priorities.
  • Driving continuous improvement across cost, quality, supply chain, and service levels, leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance competitiveness and performance.
  • Leading portfolio lifecycle management (launch, repositioning, MOC, withdrawal) with clear governance and decision authority, while steering innovation and pipeline priorities.
  • Collaborating across Customer Care, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and Regulatory, acting as a cross-functional leader to deliver business targets.
  • Coordinating with Supply Chain on demand planning, allocation, and inventory, optimizing service, cost, and working capital.
  • Prioritizing and governing the project pipeline, commercializing opportunities to deliver sustained, year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Mentoring and coaching other Product Managers.

If you...

 

  • Possess a Chemical Engineering/Chemistry degree or closely related field and industry experience, of which some should be in Marketing, Sales or Product Management. MBA is preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of 7+ years of commercial experience.
  • Are able to think strategically.
  • Possess solid business and financial acumen, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have deep knowledge of value chains in markets served by the chemical industry.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, including: negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting, and relationship building.
  • Are able to demonstrate your strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multitasking, and delivering on commitments. Possessing strong organizational skills will be a valued asset.
