Position Summary

The Product Manager will lead, drive and coordinate HAM asset and product strategy, ensuring strong alignment between the needs of the market, HAM Manufacturing, and HAM Supply Chain. The role will have a strong emphasis on balancing the short-term and long-term profitability of the business.           

 

This is a newly created role that will focus on improving the profitability of the HAM Americas Manufacturing assets while supporting the business growth as the business transitions toward specialty markets, products and applications. The role will have Product Management (PM) responsibility for multiple manufacturing plants and external toll manufacturing partners.  

 

The position is expected to think creatively, thoroughly, collaboratively, and boldly to improve overall HAM profitability and to help the business accelerate towards existing and new markets. 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maximize Americas asset profitability against Budget and Plan of Record, prioritizing projects as required. 
  • In coordination with Operations, Engineering, and Commercial functions, spearhead and coordinate profitability efforts to drive cost savings, capacity expansions, and acquisition business cases. 
  • With Marketing and Sales set Pricing guidelines that align to market value while maintaining sustainable profitability of the assets. 
  • Own the Americas Competitive Assessment ensuring an in depth understanding of competitive offerings, manufacturing costs, capacities and business strategy.  
  • Drive, lead and act as the central point of coordination between functions for capital projects supporting cost savings and growth projects within HAM assets.  
  • Partnered with Sourcing, recommend and drive raw material sourcing strategies to balance supply continuity and cost savings initiatives. 
  • With Finance establish and maintain Product Cost Standards ensuring good alignment to best accounting practices with a reality-based approach.  
  • Coordinate all Management of Change activities with Quality to ensure alignment with the operations and commercial functions.    
  • Hold self accountable for projects in terms of quantity, quality, and velocity of deliverables.    

 

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • A minimum of a BS/BA with an MBA or Technical Degree a plus.  
  • 5+ years of business management experience with 1-2 years of P&L experience. 
  • Strong business acumen. Experience developing financial analysis and robust business cases. 
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing methods and the ability to learn and develop trends quickly.  
  • A strong track record of leading projects that have delivered significant business impact. 
  • Experience in marketing or commercial position would be a plus, but understanding of commercial value and positioning of new products is essential.  
  • A strong communicator with demonstrated experience in successfully reaching goals by being a strong leader as well as a networker across functions.  
  • Excellent presentation skills. Able to adapt to various audiences including business and company boards.  
  • Ability to analyze very complex problems, distilling down the information to the most important and critical factors required to achieve success. 
  • A self-starter, capable of inspiring and motivating people of all levels and is able to earn the respect of all team members. Must be adaptable with a focus on high performance and delivering results.
