POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager, Digital Solutions is the person who identifies the customer need and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality. The position of Product Manager is responsible for strategic product management activities for assigned digital products associated with the digital applications for capturing the verifications, exceptions, and down-stream processes associated. Product managers are routinely assigned specific product platform ownership within the Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) portfolio.

 

This is a high-impact, high-visibility, growth, and profit driving leadership role within 3rd Eye and ESG.  The Product Manager essentially operates as the General Manager for his/her particular product lines to ensure long-term growth. Product Management is focused on Portfolio Management with the intent of maximizing market share and profitability of products over the complete life cycle of the product (from concept/ideation to retirement/pruning of mature products). 

 

Profitable growth is the core deliverable of this role.  Key Performance Indicators (KPI) include, gross margin, market share, customer satisfaction and continual product strategic growth mapping as to align with 3rd Eye sales objectives.  

 

Product Managers are expected to be able to plan and coordinate effectively with all business functions (Sales, Engineering, Finance, Strategic Pricing etc.) to maximize the life cycle growth of product lines. 

 

Key activities of Product Managers can include value-proposition development and effective customer communication of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits, new product innovation pipeline oversight, brand management, promotional publications oversight, technical publications and industry regulatory compliance coordination,   identification and implementation oversight of cost reduction priorities, quarterly and annual sales/margin forecasting,  prototype and product demonstration support, market/competitor analysis/response, financial analysis, and basic operations project coordination. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Utilize the Innovation Process, as defined with Development, to strategically align new products and options.
  • Follow productization processes to continually analyze existing products and new growths to ensure scalability and profitability.
  • Determine strategies and implement Voice of Customer events to gather information for strategic project planning and solution growth.
  • Review existing products for opportunity to maintain engagement, determine if products life cycle is complete, work to understand mechanisms for supporting or deprecating product lines.
