What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Team for this position?

 

We are seeking a passionate data enthusiast as our new Data Governance Platform Product Manager to drive the technology needed to treat data as a strategic enterprise asset and our overall data transformation.  You will use your extensive business acumen, data management expertise and product mindset to increase our data maturity and be a change agent for Colgate.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating across business, functional, and technical teams and be able to translate business requirements into solution design. 
 

What you will do

  • Lead the strategy and operational model for Colgate's data management tools, ensuring widespread adoption of the enterprise data management strategy through a product-centric approach
  • Own the data governance product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business impact, customer feedback, and market trends, while serving as key leader to demystify data governance for business users
  • Cultivate a user community to collaborate on product requirements with cross-functional teams, and continuously evaluate tool performance to drive data-driven enhancements
  • Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring thorough documentation of processes and knowledge sharing, while maintaining clear communication on product timelines and dependencies
  • Partner with product managers and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions that adhere to best practices, and work closely with engineering to balance feature implementation speed with quality
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements, incorporating relevant innovations into the business, and negotiate favorable terms with vendors for new technology solutions

 

What you will need (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or related field
  • 8-10 years of  experience in large implementations of data catalog, data quality and data privacy execution, with extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, implementations and latest industry trends
  • Experience with Atlan, BigID, Collibra, Informatica, Talend, SAP, or a similar solution 
  • Ability to document detailed product concepts in the context of user needs, business impacts, and technical requirements
  • Proven record of managing multiple business stakeholders, including effectively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies in line with the overall organizational goals
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to empower and guide cross-functional teams effectively
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality products
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, market analysis, and product lifecycle management within the technology sector

 

What you will need (Preferred)

  • Master’s degree in information management or Library and Information Science 
  • CDMP certification 

  • Certifications in data governance tools 

  • Agile/ Safe Product Ownership experience 


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $120,000.0
