The Product Manager/Owner is a platform expert on case management tools.  They utilize strong domain and product knowledge to understand and analyze business strategies and direction.  They can envision new product features and capabilities to meet business needs.

Expectations

• Uses domain knowledge and expertise to understand a business partner’s processes, gaps, and challenges and converts that knowledge into effective and efficient solutions.
• Is expected to fully understand the reasons and business implications of what is being requested and not just to gather requirements.
• Must be comfortable probing and challenging requirements and able to say no when requests conflict with product strategy or other requirements.
• Develops strong working relationships with the business team and domain leadership, and partners with them to understand the domain’s business strategy, vision, and direction.
• Must be able to represent the product leadership in discussions; yet know when to escalate/include them in the discussion.  
• Actively works with business stakeholders to create requirements based on technical feasibility, and facilitates discussions on business value, incorporating data into the decision.
• Acts as an expert resource to internal teams on system functionality and design, problem solving, and issue resolution.
• Works with product leadership on what features and functionality to prioritize.

Knowledge & Experience

• 3+ years of experience working with case management tools
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; articulate and able to influence others.
• Strong leadership, drive, and motivation skills.
• Able to deliver results independently.
• Demonstrates sound business judgement and critical thinking.
• Experience in vendor selection and relationships a plus.
