About the role

Model N is looking for college students (who have completed their junior year) ready to jump start their career exposure with an internship. We offer an unparalleled hands-on experience working in an exciting yet challenging industry. As an intern with the Product Team at Model N, you will experience a supportive learning environment, opportunities to participate in meaningful work and have some fun! You will meet and work with kind and inspiring Model N’ers, become a member of the team and have access to Model N leaders.   
You will have the opportunity to get to know the other Model N interns and participate in workshops and trainings designed just for you and your peers.  In addition, each week there will be time for additional learning through LinkedIn Learning on topics to help you develop your skills and business acumen.  
Project Details: Focus on creating a documented methodology to deconstruct formularies into a data structure at an NDC9 or NDC11 level.  
Projected Start Date: June 5, 2023Projected End Date: August 11, 2023 

Weekly Duties:

  • Obtain several current formularies from public sources (internet); review their content with Lead Commercial Product Manager; and will identify one or several therapeutic areas to focus on.  
  • Define appropriate data structure for formulary translation in coordination with Lead Commercial PM and Lead Project Architect (most likely Excel will be used at this juncture, but structure is none-the-less important).  
  • Translate prescription drug information as listed on the formulary into the defined format.  
  • Expand translated drug information to include lower-level product identification (NDC9 or NDC11), and append other required information (e.g., J-CODE, therapeutic class, etc.).  
  • Document process for performing these translations and repeat with at least one other formulary to validate repeatability.  

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic credentials  
  • All majors welcome especially Information Technology, Computer Science, Stem related 
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively within and across teams 
  • Analytical and communication skills  
  • Curiosity and desire to learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies  
  • A guided self-starter and able to work independently with support and a passion for learning
