What you'll do

Dive into the challenge of simplifying complex information as a Product Design Intern at Docusign. You'll focus on enhancing search experiences, making it easier for millions to find and understand critical agreement data. Working closely with a Lead Product Designer, you'll tackle real-world problems, turning intricate data into intuitive user experiences. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Experience.

 

Responsibility

  • Analyze user needs and business goals to identify and solve critical search experience challenges

  • Participate in user research and testing, learning to gather and translate insights into actionable design improvements

  • Benchmark and experiment with advanced search patterns, including AI-assisted and dynamic filtering, to contribute to cutting-edge solutions

  • Contribute to the full design lifecycle, from wireframing and prototyping to crafting high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma

  • Apply visual and information design skills to create efficient workflows and micro-interactions for complex data

  • Design with accessibility in mind, ensuring inclusive and user-friendly experiences for all users

  • Participate in design jams and critiques, presenting your work and refining designs based on feedback

  • Articulate your design rationale and document your process clearly, contributing to team knowledge and showcasing your learning

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Information Science, or a related field with an expected graduation date in December 2025 or later
  • A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in visual design and information design principles
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Figjam, Lucid)
  • Demonstrated curiosity about interaction patterns and a drive to create efficient, user-friendly experiences

Preferred

  • Eagerness to learn, receive feedback, and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team
  • Experience with real-world UX, product, or interaction design projects
  • Interest in designing for complex data systems and information-rich interfaces
  • Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing
  • Awareness of front-end design systems and web accessibility standards
  • A knack for creating efficient flows and micro-interactions

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

California: $38.00/hour - $43.00/hour

 

Illinois and Colorado: $38.00/hour - $39.00/hour

 

Washington, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $38.00/hour - $40.00/hour
