How will you make an impact?
In this role, the Product Engineer plays an integral part within the product design process and will focus on product functionality and performance.
This role will interface with vendors and customers therefore communication skills and the ability to influence will be key.
What will you do?
- Design and Development: Create and develop new products based on market research and customer needs. Collaborate with design teams to turn concepts into viable products. Leads or participates in the verification of various new products of moderate complexity by qualifying new products and related design changes.
- Testing and Improvement: Conduct rigorous testing of prototypes to ensure functionality, safety, and performance standards are met. Analyze test results and refine designs accordingly. Designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies and plans for new product features and enhancements. Developing and executing manual and automated test cases to validate product functionality, performance, and usability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure products are developed and launched successfully.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of product specifications, design changes, and testing results to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Project Management: Manage the verification of moderately complex products and projects and assisting in high complexity projects. Oversee the product development lifecycle from ideation to market launch, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
How will you get here?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related engineering subject)
Experience:
- 5-8 years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing experience including CNC and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and familiarity with product development- processes.
- Strong problem solving abilities and analytical skills to troubleshoot product development processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must feel comfortable managing with vendors and communicating with customers.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop unique solutions and improve existing products.
