Responsibilities:

Own the technical health of released products.

  • Serve as the day-to-day engineering voice of the product for released products.
  • Identify and implement design, material, or process improvements to enhance quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

 

Drive changes through formal change control processes.

  • Create and/or revise 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Initiate and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to revise specifications, drawings, and BOMs in Windchill PLM and Oracle ERP systems.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, validations protocols (IQs/OQs/PQs), and documentation updates for change control.

 

Support cross-functional initiatives assuring production continuity.

  • Participate in tooling transfers, retooling, or alternate material qualification projects.
  • Resolve manufacturing, quality, and customer issues through root cause analysis and engineering problem solving.
  • Contribute engineering inputs to product lifecycle management, supplier quality, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

 

Promote continuous improvement.

  • Continuously improve product engineering workflows, SOPs, digital tools, and templates to increase speed and reduce errors.
  • Identify recurring product issues and propose long-term corrective actions.
  • Transfer lessons learned to NPI teams to improve design for injection molding, design for assembly and manufacturing readiness.

 

Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

 

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Plastics, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • 0 – 3 years of engineering experience (internships and/or co-ops).
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD (PTC Creo preferred), PLM (Windchill) and GD&T
  • Foundational knowledge of injection molding
  • Effective communicator - able to present technical content to internal and external stakeholders.
  • This role may require 10% of travel domestically. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.

Preferred Skills:

  • M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics, or related field)
  • Working knowledge of injection molding fundamentals and experience with validation protocols (IQs/OQs/PQs)
  • Experience with cleanroom or controlled environment manufacturing
  • ≥1 years in product engineering
  • Working knowledge in:
    • 3D CAD (PTC Creo)
