Work cross-functionally and closely with, Product Development, including interfaces with Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Service.

In this position... 

You will be part of a team that works alongside the engine, climate, cooling, fuel, exhaust, and mounts teams to drive enhancements in test methods, DFMEA, and prevent reoccurrence items.  This person will help the team improve their DFMEA's, P-Diagrams, and Boundary Diagrams which would in result in improved our test methods and DV execution.   Finally, they would do an audit at various stages of the program to ensure teams are completing the work robustly.

What you'll do...

  • Lead Design Reviews of Forward Model Programs
  • Develop Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) plan for units and vehicle end-item components
  • Lead reviews and updates of Core Documents (P-Diagram, DFMEA, Quality History, etc)
  • Coach Major/New Technology Change as needed
  • Audit FMA analysis
  • Incorporate Read Across Learnings from late findings into core FMA documents
  • Manage and support Root Cause Analysis and Prevent Recurrence Actions

You'll have... 

  • BS Engineering with 5 or more years of experience in an engineering discipline
  • Design and Release experience working with automotive Engine Systems, Exhaust Systems, Air Induction, Fuel Systems, Climate and Powertrain Cooling Systems
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Passionate about improving product quality
  • Familiarity with Quality tools: Failure Mode Avoidance, Problem solving skills (8-D, 6-Sigma, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools
  • A team player approach with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to higher levels of management

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Demonstrated experience working with, thermal systems, and powertrain mounts.
  • Extensive experience with failure mode avoidance process
  • Global Product Development System (GPDS) knowledge is a plus
