Job Description

Summary:

The Universal Products & Experiences Group is seeking a Product Developer for Lifestyle product categories to support the Product Development team that services the Universal Pictures’ Consumer Products business. This position will report to the Senior PD Manager and will contribute to the overall entertainment licensing objectives that drive worldwide brand awareness and deliver revenue to the studio. The Product Developer will be responsible for working closely with our licensing partners, reviewing consumer product design submissions by providing design direction and administrative guidance to ensure our portfolio of brands and characters come to life through product at retail in a consistent way.

Responsibilities include:

  • Expertise in 2D & 3D consumer product development, Understanding of tooling, print techniques and pattern making is a plus.
  • Be the PD expert in assigned categories. Understands execution, fabrications/materials, color and technical designs to fit various price points
  • Develop trend boards and product POVs based on seasonal trends, themes, color, raw materials and styling
  • Prepare all necessary components for design presentations and product review meeting preparations
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the retail landscape and monitor retail sales performance of key categories and programs
  • Understand licensee’s design and manufacturing capabilities in order to guide efficient product development and develop appropriate solutions to execution challenges of our franchises
  • Be the expert in all CP creative assets in order to provide accurate PD feedback
