About the role

Youth sports offer important life lessons that propel kids toward meaningful futures, including a sense of family and community. OVERVIEW:

About GameChanger:

We believe in the life changing impact youth sports have on and off the field. Sports encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence – important life lessons that have the power to propel our youth toward meaningful futures. We recognize that without coaches, parents, and volunteers, organized youth sports could not exist. By building the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to our community, we are helping families elevate the next generation through youth sports.

So if you love sports and their community building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.

The Position:

As a Product Designer, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to design and ship high-impact features across GameChanger’s platform. You’ll report to the Product Design Manager and work closely with teammates in product, engineering, and marketing to bring thoughtful, scalable experiences to life.

While your initial focus may center on user experience within a specific domain, we’re looking for a versatile designer who can flex across product areas as team priorities evolve. This role is ideal for a strong systems thinker, someone who can design with structure and consistency, build new systems from scratch, and maintain them over time to ensure a cohesive user experience.

You should thrive in collaborative environments, be comfortable navigating ambiguity, and be motivated by solving complex problems in a way that’s intuitive for a broad and diverse user base.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process and ship features across mobile and web platforms.

  • Partner with cross-functional peers to influence the product through a user-centered approach.

  • Work iteratively to define problems and quickly find solutions.

  • Speak with customers frequently, collect insights, test assumptions, and translate research takeaways into meaningful outcomes.

  • Facilitate design sprints and workshops to develop high-quality solutions.

  • Craft intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile and web.

  • Help evolve and grow the design practice at GameChanger. Contribute to our design system, be vocal in design critiques, share inspirational resources, and aid in brainstorms.

  • Question the status quo and advocate for change.

Who You Are:

  • You've been designing user-centered experiences for at least five years, ideally in startup environments.

  • You've designed and shipped native iOS and Android apps, with a strong grasp of platform conventions and nuances.

  • You think in systems, not just screens. You understand how to build, scale, and maintain design systems that create consistency and efficiency across a product.

  • Your portfolio goes beyond polished visuals; it showcases process, collaboration, and impact. You have at least two detailed case studies that demonstrate your problem-solving approach and systems-level thinking.

  • You’ve taken complex, ambiguous problems and broken them down into clear, measurable, and actionable steps.

  • You’re experienced in user research by conducting interviews, running usability tests, digging into behavioral data, and turning insights into design decisions.

  • You articulate the “why” behind your design decisions and advocate for user-centered outcomes in cross-functional settings.

  • You care deeply about team collaboration and are eager to contribute to a culture of feedback, growth, and shared success.

  • You’re results-oriented, always seeking to improve the experience and drive meaningful impact for users.

Perks:

  • Work remotely throughout the US* or from our well-furnished, modern office in Manhattan, NY.

  • Unlimited vacation policy.

  • Paid volunteer opportunities.

  • Technology stipend - $4,000 every 2 years after your start to make sure you have the latest and greatest technology

  • WFH stipend - $500 annually to make your
