We are looking for a hands-on Product architect who works closely with product owner(s) and product team(s) in the definition of roadmap and architecture for the product according to business strategies and enterprise architecture framework. This position will partner with product owner and product team in delivering Machine Learning development platform capabilities (AWS Sagemaker predominantly) by enabling modern technology solutions in cloud. The role involves 60% architecture work and 40% hands-on development of core new capabilities, front-running architecture and development for the Model Development team.

Primarily this product team will focus on enhancing and enabling new capabilities of the machine learning (ML) platform (AWS Sagemaker, Domino), create integrations between Sagemaker and other analytics platforms, contribute to build out of Vanguard’s generative AI platform using Sagemaker, migration of Domino deployed ML models to Sagemaker and other initiatives.

In this role, you will:

• Own the ongoing product technical roadmaps, architecture, and design in alignment with business strategies and objectives

• Carry out hands-on development work - front-running capability development, developing prototypes, resolving issues, carrying out experiments and evaluations. Hands-on development/coding is required 30-40% of the time.

• Collaborate with the broader architecture community to ensure that their products align with target architectures and technology roadmaps and provides input on required platform capabilities and improving development tools/processes

• Work with other product teams, technology experts, and business stakeholders to provide functional support

• Assist in the evaluation of vendors and products and participates in build vs. buy discussions with the product teams

• Act as highest-level technical expert, resolving issues, assessing any potential risks and identifying solutions

• Provide technical guidance to product team(s) as appropriate

• Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects

• Assist in the development of and management of architecture governance process(es)

• Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies

• Prepare and present product-related documentation

• Mentor less experienced crew members/developers and contribute to overall development of the organization

What it takes:

• Strong experience with AWS and Cloud Infrastructure (AI/ML cloud infrastructure preferred) and CI/CD development

• Strong experience architecting solutions (AI/ML engineering preferred)

• Experience breaking down large features architecture into technical stories for execution

• Experience researching future technologies, create PoCs and influence internal and external stakeholder to drive future technology direction

• Strong python experience

• ML model development experience is preferred

• Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least three years of technology architect or technical lead experience

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
