Job Description

The Senior Procurement Lead will have an expert understanding of all activities in the project procurement life cycle, and lead efforts in procurement strategy development, bid analysis, buy-out, contracting, and expediting.   This role will take ownership of procurement deliverables in project execution. The Senior Procurement Lead trains and mentors more junior team members, project teams, and other internal CRB customers, on procurement best practices and tools.  This role will lead efforts to mitigate risk and provide value-driven solutions in alignment with the project’s conditions of satisfaction. The resulting work product will aide our clients’ decision-making during the procurement process and support CRB teams in securing and delivering key trade labor and equipment. The Senior Procurement Lead will perform analysis of market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material and  subcontractor availability. This role will manage supplier relationships, communicate regularly with senior leaders, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and supplier contract negotiations. This role will also ensure sourcing strategy execution, negotiations, contract implementation and monitor performance against established targets. This role will support both equipment and trades-focused deliverables of a client project. The Senior Procurement Lead is expected to work autonomously with minimal supervision. It is expected that this Senior Procurement Lead’s experience and knowledge should provide immediate impact to the organization.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction or Engineering preferred, or relevant experience
  • Preferred 10+ years of experience in procurement of capital equipment and/or subcontracting services, preferably in an EPCM environment
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industries
  • Extensive experience leading sourcing initiatives of all kinds (e.g., rapid sourcing, targeted negotiations, complex category strategies, supplier and contractor relationship management,)
  • Has managed complex equipment contracts over $10MM and has executed/overseen a portfolio of contracts between $10-100MM

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Advanced proficiency in procurement processes and principles
  • Experience in EPCM project delivery
  • Experience with online bidding systems is preferred.  Building Connected a plus.
  • Skilled negotiator with experience developing and executing complex negotiation strategies.
  • Technical excellence in understanding and negotiation of contractual documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, and procurement bidding software
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, including scope, specs, schedules, project plans
  • Able to train and develop procurement policies and practices, both to more junior team members as well as internal customers
  • Strong Excel and data entry skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with key internal customers, suppliers and contractors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence, resolve conflict and drive decisions among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.
  • Possess a passion for quality, compliance and weighing risk
  • Excellent written, listening and communication skills
  • Ability to identify risk throughout the supply chain and implement risk mitigation strategies
