About the role

👋 Hi, I'm Margaret, Accounting Manager at Customer.io. I'm looking for a Procurement and AP Lead to join our Business Operations team. As Procurement and AP Lead, you’ll work with me and our Senior Controller to support and maintain the financial needs of the company. You will oversee and optimize our accounts payable and procurement processes. Your leadership will be crucial in driving strategic initiatives, fostering vendor relationships, and ensuring financial compliance and efficiency.

Some things you’ll do:

Accounts Payable Management:

  • Lead the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement best practices for vendor onboarding, invoice verification, reconciliation, and payment processing, optimizing efficiency and minimizing errors.
  • Conduct regular reviews of accounts payable processes and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and enhancement.
  • Manage Credit Cards including generating credit cards, reviewing, categorizing, and posting credit card charges, and ensuring receipts have been collected.
  • Drive special projects as needed within the accounting team.

Procurement Management:

  • Lead the implementation of the Airbase procurement management system.
  • Manage all procurement activities, including assisting with vendor selection, contract negotiations, and purchase order management.
  • Collaborate closely with departmental stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop strategic sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, efficient procurement activities, and financial controls.

Analysis and Other:

  • Provide assistance in financial reporting and analysis related to accounts payable and procurement, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and monitor accounts payable and procurement processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with various month and year-end closing tasks.
  • Assist with audit and tax engagements.
  • Prepare and file 1099’s for all necessary vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial data into business planning and forecasting activities.

We’re looking for someone who has/is…

  • Located within UTC -8 to UTC -5 time zones. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procurement best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
  • Experience in implementing procurement tools.
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (e.g., Netsuite).
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments.

We are offering a starting salary of $100,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
