How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Process Safety Manager is responsible and accountable for driving the development and sustainability of the global hazard mitigation program. They will own the systems, tools and their application to assess and mitigate the process hazards within the business. This role owns the business objective to eliminate unplanned events associated with process upsets on new molecules and new processes as well as existing operations. It also owns the hazard mitigation process and its success through coordination with Engineering, Operations, HSE, R&D, product development and Product Management.The role is to demonstrate leadership, initiative, solution implementation, process safety application, knowledge and skills in a fast paced and very dynamic environment.
Drives the development and continuous improvement objective in process safety.
Works with the stage gate process in new project development to ensure analyses are complete and requirements are met.
Form effective partnerships with other organizations and functions to align on shared strategies and goals.
Makes decisions with a view towards what is best for Air Liquide Advanced Materials while seeking solution oriented outcomes.
Defines, implements and checks quality on defined process safety methodologies and tools like PHA
Leads, manages and facilitates the completion of process hazard identification and risk assessments to develop risk management strategies by identifying potential or actual adverse process safety hazards.
Performs computer chemical dispersion modeling
Manages the root cause investigations (RCI) program
Leads and develops employees in RCI and follow up actions as well as initiates and reviews MOCs as a subject matter expert.
Works within the greater corporate entity to leverage improvements and learnings.
Makes data based decisions. Is methodical in the analysis. Let’s the data lead to a decision. Does not become paralyzed by data analysis.
Takes action to resolve gaps between performance and assessments.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or advanced chemical engineering degree
8+ years experience in Process Safety methodologies and tools like Loss Prevention, LOPA, HAZOP, PHA, F&EI
8+ years experience with associated domestic and global regulations such as OSHA PSM, USEPA RMP, and KGS.
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and changing priorities
Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business.
Ability to work and travel globally.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in operations with 3+ years process safety experience
Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals; toxic, flammable, pyrophoric
Process engineering experience in chemical industry
Root cause investigation and analysis skills
Deep knowledge of international fire and building codes
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent knowledge
Statistical Process Control, Statistical Quality Control experience
Able to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Experience working in dynamic environments of short time to market and high customer expectations.
Experience working in an empowered organization.
