Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist who is experienced in supply chain management and is a motivated self-starter to support the San Diego CA office. This position will be working in our San Diego, CA office a minimum of 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Develops RFQ utilizing Specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.
- Prepares bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates PO provisions, administers resulting PO and ensure on time delivery.
- Manages performance of Purchase Orders and assigned suppliers, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
- Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users.
- In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
- Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management
- Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related experience; minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field with a Master’s
- 2+ years of direct procurement or supply chain experience
- Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint, Oracle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP procurement systems
- Experience with subcontracts / long term agreements
- Experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications
- Experience in small and complex machining or electronics commodities
- Experience reading technical drawings and documents
- Experience of government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
