Job Overview
The Merchandising Assistant, as part of the International Wholesale Operations team, supports the sale of Macy’s Private Brands to third-party clients, with a focus on the Military business. They ensure a seamless process from order entry through delivery to each customer. They report to the Sr. Manager/Manager and partner with Associate/Assistant Managers.
What You Will Do
- Accurately enter Military orders and verify them against buyer expectations.
- Collaborate with Account Teams to ensure accurate communication of drops, delivery changes, and cost updates to external buying teams, noted on Buyer Worksheets.
- Provide guidance for Military Exchange PO setups through updates to Military Order Worksheets.
- Cross-reference Buyer worksheets with current on-order information from Business Objects, ensuring alignment across all parties. Review weekly system downloads, including BOBJ OO/UPC reports, and identify exception errors.
- Audit and validate all incoming Exchange POs using EDI Options' interface to ensure they meet shipping model parameters (e.g., costs, units, cartons, store discrepancies) and release POs accordingly.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with Military Exchange buyers regarding necessary changes to Buyer worksheets and Exchange POs.
- Monitor outbound shipping to Exchanges and follow up with Maersk facilities.
- Assist in resolving logistics issues with support from Maersk, EDI Options, MMG Logistics, and Exchange Compliance teams as needed, becoming proficient in internal and external SOPs.
- Responsible for transferring digital assets (images/copy) for customer websites and turnover log.
- Manage Navy PID setup process with SPS Commerce to handle/manage Exchange PIDs.
- Ensure strict adherence to order deadlines and milestones.
