Privacy Program Manager

The role and why it matters:

In recent years Vonage has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business and most recently, it led to the acquisition by global Telco powerhouse Ericsson.  

The privacy of our customers and employees is paramount.  We are looking for an exceptionally talented, energetic problem solver to join our privacy team.   You will be integral to ensuring the privacy of personal information at Vonage.  You will help craft and implement our privacy compliance program.  You will work with our legal and security teams as we help our company navigate the complex challenges of processing personal data in the rapidly changing landscape of privacy. 

This role is ideal for a proactive self-starter with outstanding project management and communication skills.  This position will report to Vonage’s  Senior Privacy & IP Counsel.  We are open to candidates located anywhere in the United States to work remotely.

 

1. Key areas of responsibility :

In this role you will be responsible for the following key activities: 

• Developing scalable, systematic processes to enhance our privacy compliance;
• Supporting privacy counsel and product and enterprise teams in ongoing compliance measures, documentation of data flows, managing data subject requests, maintain records of processing activity and data protection impact assessments as systems, products and services evolve and new services evolve and are launched in new markets;
• Partnering with privacy counsel and business teams to oversee and implement data classification and retention policies;
• Assisting  with our third party vendor privacy risk assessment program;
• Developing  and enhancing our global privacy training program;
• Collaborating with internal teams to identify data protection issues, propose solutions and translate practices into policies and procedures; and
• Assisting  in identifying, implementing and managing privacy tech tools to support the privacy program;

What’s required for application:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of program management experience
• 3+ years of privacy program experience;
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills and experience working cross-functionally with teams including engineering, sales, marketing and product;
• Professional experience managing a program from start to finish;
• CIPP/US/E/CIPM or other privacy certification required.
• Other related management certifications are a plus; and
• Technical expertise working with a company like Vonage is a plus
• You will possess a high level of integrity and be  committed to the highest ethical standards.
