Principal Technical Support Engineer - Exadata

As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical inquiries regarding the use of and solve for our Electronic Support Services. A main point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.

As a Principal Support Engineer, you will offer strategic technical support to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. A main focus is to create/apply automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues. You are expected to be an expert member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues. Services may be frequently provided by on-site customer visits.

Job Description:

A successful candidate will have hands on experience with

-  Exadata Implementations

-  Oracle Exadata Cloud Services (ExaCC / ExaCS) implementation and administration

- In depth knowledge of ASM architecture

- In depth knowledge of RAC architecture

- Experience with clustering technologies from different vendors

- Thorough understanding of the Oracle database features

- Extensive hands on interaction with large Database management systems

- Good understanding of Support tools and Oracle diagnostics a plus

- Programming and solve knowledge in C , C++

- Good knowledge on Unix, Linux and/or Windows operating systems

- Good hardware debugging skills 

- Good understanding of OCI fundamentals

US: Hiring Range: from $31.83 to $67.93 per hour; from $66,200 to $141,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
