Raytheon’s SI&T is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer who will support Radar technology including hardware for radars at our Woburn, MA location. You will lead engineering activities that include radar operations planning and preparation for test events. You will work independently in collaboration with the program leads and provide oversight to project cost, schedule and technical performance.

What You Will Do

  • Lead radar mission operations planning, execution, and analysis
  • Collaborate with site engineers to resolve radar technical issues
  • Support Chief Engineer with review of technical processes, procedures, and deliverables
  • Support radar site installation planning, execution, analysis, and reporting
  • Prepare, review and execute detailed test procedures
  • Present detailed data analysis and explain results to internal leadership and customers
  • Work independently or in a team environment to present data and explain results to leadership and customers.
  • Occasional CONUS and/or OCONUS travel to support integration and test activities.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering and/or System Integration, Verification and Validation.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Linux, and/or other programming language
  • Experience in technical reports, radar data and/or briefing internal/external stakeholders
  • Active and transferable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical discipline
  • Systems Engineering experience including test, integration, or verification and validation of Early Warning Radars or other Missile Defense System (MDS) sensors, understanding of radar signal and data processing, and working level experience with requirements traceability, requirements management, or documentation of IV&V products within DOORS
  • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System) or similar budget tracking system
  • Experience with technical user requirements and/or maintaining technical documentation
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of systems engineering professionals
