Principal Software Engineer for Genesys DevOps

What you will need to be successful in this role: 

You will need to have a solid understanding of REST API solutions and architecture, Microservices Architecture and DevOps Engineering experience. You will also need to have strong problem-solving skills which will enable you to make valued contributions to our team and software platform.  You need to keep up to date with the latest trends in cloud technology, especially as it applies to the AWS platform and its growing feature set. Being detail orientated and collaborative will also ensure your success in this role. 

Additional expectations in this role: 

• Collaborate with product managers across the different product offerings and help drive the delivery of robust DevOps solutions for various customer commitments. 

• Our feature set sometimes requires collaboration with other teams across the Genesys Cloud platform, you will need to effectively communicate and work with other team members when working on DevOps features across the platform. 

• Lead a collection of diverse technology projects and a team of DevOps engineers with a vast experience in distributed microservices architecture, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company across different product offerings 

• Lead cross-departmental process improvements and automation initiatives. 

• Own and manage execution for parts or all of DevOps engineering projects. 

• Coordinate with subject matter experts across the release lifecycle to obtain input and support for planned DevOps engineering activities. 

• A positive attitude and willingness to take on new tasks as they arise

The ideal candidate would also have experience with 

• 6+ DevOps Engineering. 

• 4+ Experience with Jira and project management 

• 4+ Experience with Java and/or python 

• 4+ Experience with deployment tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Packer) 

• Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems. 

• Firm understanding of backend development, including Python, Java, REST API and NoSQL solutions. 

• Deployment experience in large scale enterprise environments  

• Experience defining process and standards desired 

• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills 

• Good verbal and written communication skills. 

• Be proficient in one or more cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud 

• Experience working with remote engineering teams
