Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Oversees the documentation of all development activity. Trains non-technical personnel. Assists with tracking performance metrics. Provides guidance and support to other Engineers. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

About the Team / Role: 

We are looking for a senior software developer to join us to work on a family of software tools that together navigate and enable construction of The Internet: 

• Construction workflow management, network topology, “The Internet” infrastructure changes, reporting, operations and more. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Creation, management and operation of a diverse set of microservices and microapplications. 

• Define common frameworks and software libraries, in various programming languages, that support the creation of efficient, scalable and highly available microservice-based architectures. 

• Support with the management of the running system architecture. You will troubleshoot issues and identify areas for continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on quality, performance and security. 

• Work closely with architects and technical product managers and other members of your team to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed, implemented and tested software solutions. 

• Work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software in an incremental manner. 

• Help promote the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools. You are providing guidance and feedback to other software developers. 

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For: 

• BS in Computer Science or related Engineering is required; MS degree is desirable. 

• 10+ years of proven, hands-on track-record as a software engineer, focused on cloud-based systems.
