Responsibilities
Peraton will provide CBP with a range of technical, financial, and program management support in order to achieve a mature set of enterprise cloud services, which demonstrate a parity of service quality and capabilities among industry-leading tech firms. To achieve this, Peraton will provide professional services to integrate and enable the consumption of a combination of software applications/databases, compute, storage, and data protection elements from various sources, including Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Anything-as-a-Service (XaaS), etc.
The Principal/Senior Cloud Architect will be responsible for the following:
- Designs, develops, and implements cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architecture designs.
- Develops comprehensive cloud architecture solutions that encompass cloud infrastructure, data management, security, and integration points.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate cloud services and technologies to meet specific project requirements.
- Designs scalable and high-performance cloud solutions that can handle varying workloads and user demands.
- Conducts performance analysis and optimize cloud infrastructure for resource efficiency and responsiveness.
- Implements robust security practices, including encryption, access controls, identity management, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Regularly assesses and enhances the security posture of cloud solutions, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring data protection.
- Architects seamless integration between cloud-based applications and on-premises systems, ensuring interoperability and data consistency.
- Designs API strategies and data synchronization processes to enable smooth communication between different components.
- Develops cost-effective cloud architectures by optimizing resource utilization, selecting appropriate pricing models, and monitoring usage patterns.
- Provides recommendations to clients for cost optimization and budget management in cloud deployments.
- Creates detailed technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practice guidelines for cloud solutions.
- Mentors and guides development and operations teams on cloud architecture best practices and patterns.
**Position is Contingent on Contract Award**
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 years with BS/BA. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- U.S. Citizenship and must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance (i.e. CBP Full BI)
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP understanding their offerings, capabilities, and best practices.
- Broad technology background with strong research and learning skills in support of constantly evolving and emerging technologies.
- Understands cloud-based infrastructure components, microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies and architectural principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud Certification: (i.e. Microsoft, Google, AWS)

Target Salary Range
