Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Development Engineer to join AT&T’s Connected Solutions team. We bring connectivity to cars, deliver visibility to fleet management, and create solutions that support millions of connected IoT devices worldwide.

As Principal-Product Development Engineer, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert across a range of solutions, platforms, networks, and products. You possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in deploying products, platforms, networks, and solutions, leading and providing in-depth technical oversight for large, complex, cross-functional programs across North America and globally.

This role requires excellent technical leadership to guide and coordinate teams, customers, and partners in delivering world-class solutions. You will align program objectives across architecture and delivery teams, deeply understand customer needs, and ensure requirements and design efforts produce a fully integrated end-to-end solution—from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

• Guide teams and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.

• Act as SME for customer solutions, ensuring technical artifacts are complete for each system and vendor.

• Lead risk assessment, resolve technical issues, and remove project impediments.

Solution Definition & Evaluation

• Gather and translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and use cases.

• Define high-level solutions, system impacts, features, and integration points.

• Advise on architecture and development options that support flexibility and re-use.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Coordinate with customers, vendors, local MNOs, and internal teams (ops, legal, finance, sales, etc.).

• Lead cross-functional discussions throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and resolve issues.

Project Oversight & Delivery

• Oversee and approve technical artifacts to maintain cohesive solutions.

• Evaluate deliverables, integration points, and deployment timelines; recommend strategies to meet testing and partner needs.

• Lead and document technical product lifecycle matrices and solution flows.

• Remove obstacles, evaluate and escalate issues to keep projects on track, aligning teams throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure integrated technical solutions..

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Define and manage end-to-end test strategies across all phases.

• Review and approve test cases/results, facilitate troubleshooting, and act as liaison for defect resolution.

Required Skills and Expertise:

• Technical leadership to lead cross-functional teams and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Extensive experience in delivering software and network solutions, integrating systems, and engineering products.

• Advanced proficiency in solution definition and translation of business requirements into technical specifications

• Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation, and stakeholder collaboration

• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments

• Ability to build and foster strategic partnerships with external stakeholders through effective customer-facing communication and liaison skills, ensuring strong engagement and collaboration with critical clients.

• End-to-end test strategy development and oversight

• Project management skills and critical path analysis for complex deployments

• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Systems/ Computer Engineering / Computer Science

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications, with a focus on mobility or IoT, delivering scalable and reliable end-to-end technology solutions.

• Experience in software delivery and management; experience in wireless, 5G networks and IoT connectivity; familiarity with AI, machine learning
