About the role:

 

Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our fast-growing team. In this role, you'll use your technical skills and passion for innovation to lead the commercialization of new products and improvements. You'll work hands-on to solve complex problems in a fast-paced, global environment, focusing on developing processes from concept to production. This position involves cross-functional collaboration to design and commercialize advanced technology, supporting process development across Boston Scientific’s global network. 

 

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our regional offices five (5) days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:  

 

• Execute the functional deliverables associated with PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems 
• Provide on-going mentoring and technical guidance to managers, other engineers, technicians, and functional group 
• Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on complex projects 

• Identify and mitigate technical risks early in development cycles

• Serve as a key resource or expert, participating in setting technical direction for the function and/or organization 

• Review and assess processes for potential patent opportunities 

• Ensure visibility and closure of process issues (e.g., yields, cost, capability, etc.) per PDP milestones 

• Develop test plans, perform DOE and data analysis, and validate processes
• Serve as a key contributor and participant in technical reviews 
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost

• Evaluate external technologies and strategically identify opportunities to implement them internally 

• Serve as a core team member and technical expert (subject matter expert) on platform and complex projects 

  

Required qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or closely related technical field) 

• 7+  years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role 

• Demonstrated experience driving innovation and solving complex technical problems
• Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

• Experience with Brazing, Sputtering, and Coating Technologies
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers

• Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion through collaboration among team members 

• Demonstrated ability to develop and drive innovative solutions into processes and products 

• Medical device design experience; new product development
