About the role:
Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our fast-growing team. In this role, you'll use your technical skills and passion for innovation to lead the commercialization of new products and improvements. You'll work hands-on to solve complex problems in a fast-paced, global environment, focusing on developing processes from concept to production. This position involves cross-functional collaboration to design and commercialize advanced technology, supporting process development across Boston Scientific’s global network.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our regional offices five (5) days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Execute the functional deliverables associated with PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems
- Provide on-going mentoring and technical guidance to managers, other engineers, technicians, and functional group
- Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on complex projects
- Identify and mitigate technical risks early in development cycles
- Serve as a key resource or expert, participating in setting technical direction for the function and/or organization
- Review and assess processes for potential patent opportunities
- Ensure visibility and closure of process issues (e.g., yields, cost, capability, etc.) per PDP milestones
- Develop test plans, perform DOE and data analysis, and validate processes
- Serve as a key contributor and participant in technical reviews
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost
- Evaluate external technologies and strategically identify opportunities to implement them internally
- Serve as a core team member and technical expert (subject matter expert) on platform and complex projects
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or closely related technical field)
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role
- Demonstrated experience driving innovation and solving complex technical problems
- Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Brazing, Sputtering, and Coating Technologies
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers
- Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion through collaboration among team members
- Demonstrated ability to develop and drive innovative solutions into processes and products
- Medical device design experience; new product development
