Accountabilities
- Develop cost effective and innovative products and platforms with longevity, versatility, and interoperability through the use of industry standards
- Guarantee the design and the implementation of a complete HW solution (components, documentation and tools), including design against obsolescence, vendor and Product Production Issues.
- Contribute on the definition and ensure the application of common methodologies, technical solutions and best practices in coherence with the Development function.
- Ensure the proper planning and management (including staffing) of the HW development activities
- Troubleshoot product applications in all the product life-cycle phases.
- Ensure the definition of testing environment requirement and constrains suitable to allow a complete verification of products/subsystems
- Ensure supervising complete product/subsystem tests aiming at covering all product functionalities, internal and external interfaces and the production of the relevant documentation
- Ensure the maintenance and tracking of configuration of the test environment including HW, SW , Tools, databases, and documentation
- Collaborate in defining «on field» vs «Lab» scope of work, understanding whenever integration activities can be performed in Lab or on field due to specific performances, timing, communication redundancy integration requirements
- Support, and when applicable and requested execution, of the on field tests
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Technical Background
- For 10 up to 15 years of technical experience in Railway environment
- Vast knowledge of and experience with rail industry products/systems, included but not limited to: interlocking systems, relays, track circuits, ground equip etc.
- Strong Documentation writing and review skills
- Experience with all phases of the design process from conception to manufacturing support
