The Raytheon Digital Technology Finance team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst with a strong work ethic, proven collaborative abilities and continuous learning mindset to join our growing team as a Principal Specialist, FP&A (P3). This is a role on a small, agile team, which will provide a great variety of growth opportunities and have significant interaction with various layers of management within and outside of Finance. This position is currently designated as onsite and based out of our Tucson, AZ location.
What You Will Do:
Serve as the financial analyst for the Digital Technologies organization.
Analyze expense drivers within the respective directorates being supported and produce actionable next steps to drive costs efficiencies and/or process improvements.
Obtain a breadth of knowledge of all RTX financial metrics with an emphasis on overhead expenses, PRISM and APEX, and gain a full understanding of all the intricacies of Overhead Budget development and maintenance (to include detailed analysis, trends, what-if’s, etc.).
Provide process and analytical leadership for Long Range Plan (LRP) and Quarterly forecast updates.
Analyze monthly overhead performance and forecasts and communicate to the Digital Technology directorates as well as to Finance peers and leadership
Deliver robust software reporting that links to workflow approvals and allows leadership to make informed decisions on forecast timing and risk and opportunities to plan.
Perform quick-turn ad hoc financial analysis
Become knowledgeable in both internal and external controls, such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and RTX Disclosure Statement
Develop financial models and reporting tools related to management of overhead budgets (labor, hardware, contractor labor, software and other critical areas of the business)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s and 5 years prior relevant financial experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years’ experience. Preferred degrees in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or related field.
Experience with Excel (preferred experience with large data sets and data manipulation techniques)
Experience using other Microsoft Office tools (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience with project or task financial management and support including analyzing budgets, monitoring actual cost data, developing forecasts, and providing variance analysis
Experience using SAP
Qualifications We Prefer:
Strong communication, comfortable speaking in groups while confidently and professionally sharing opinions with every level of management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed team environment with multiple tasks going on simultaneously, with overlapping responsibilities and firm due dates
Able to meet critical deadlines and develop and apply process improvements, the selected candidate should be extremely organized and be able to track multiple revisions
Experience performing qualitative or comparative analysis with an emphasis on variance explanation; the ideal candidate will be Inquisitive and have strong analytical and mathematical skills
A drive for leading process change, willing and able to partner with cross business teams to improve forecast accuracy
