Principal Engineering Manager, One Drive/SharePoint Core Engineering

SharePoint is Microsoft's solution for managing business and education intranets, data workflows, and critical customer data.

As we continue to grow our market share, we are faced with many core infrastructure and scale challenges driving a need to build resilient systems while ensuring no customers are impacted throughout the change management lifecycle. The OneDrive and SharePoint team is looking for a Principal Engineering Manager to be a part of this journey.

Responsibilities

• Ability to build a technically skilled team, who puts people and culture at the forefront. 
• Solve difficult engineering problems to improve the core fundamentals of our systems, add critical and exciting new features, revolutionize how our engineers work day-to-day, and try new things like bringing the power of machine learning and statistical analysis at scale to solve these and other problems.
• Partner with peers across the company in Office, Azure, Microsoft365, and Research.
• Guide a team of engineers, mentoring them through this journey and providing technical and architectural leadership as we evolve our scalable, distributed service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

• 6+ years of experience in problem solving, design, rapid prototyping, coding, and debugging skills.
• Experience with developing large high-volume services, with service-oriented development and cloud-based systems.
• Experience mentoring and managing developers.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
