Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an experienced Princiapl Engineer Software –Embedded Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK; Palmdale, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test.

Work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems.   We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline or 1 year of related experience with a PhD
  • Familiar with Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software.
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience with Agile Framework within the last 3 years.
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience developing software and scripts in C, Object Oriented C++ AND/OR Python for Safety-Critical applications/Systems within the last 3 years.
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, AND/OR Jenkins within the last 3 years.
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience architecting, Designing, Modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), Implementing, Maintaining, Integrating, Debugging, Verifying and Qualifying Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software written in OO C++ running on Real-Time Operating Systems such as: VxWorks, Integrity, AND/OR Real Time Embedded Linux within the last 3 years.
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience with Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and Fuzzing Tools such as: Coverity, SonarQube, AND/OR Fortify within the last 3 years.
  • Familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle and Agile framework as a Product Owner, SCRUM Master, and/or team member. 
  • Familiar with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools.   
  • Active DoD Top Secret (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR).
