Job Description:
Microchip Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our Quality Team as a key contributor to product quality, process integrity and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main quality liaison with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Resolve quality issues, lead corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Inspect and verify conformance of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.
- Report on quality metrics, non-conformances, and recommend improvements.
- Visit suppliers and customers to assess quality performance and gather feedback.
- Support new supplier onboarding and AS9102 First Article Inspections.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and company standards.
- Deliver training to staff and promote a quality-focused culture.
- Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales.
- Maintain technical competence and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform additional quality engineering tasks as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- US Citizenship Required - ITAR Site.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must be familiar with ISO9001 requirements.
