Job Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Principal Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of end-to-end data solutions in AWS. This role is instrumental in driving our digital transformation, supporting our ambitious growth goals, and delivering exceptional digital experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute a modern, scalable, and secure data architecture strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural initiatives and collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and guide technical solution designs.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture roadmaps and blueprints, including multi-year transition strategies.

  • Ensure alignment of data architecture with enterprise standards and promote consistent architectural models and patterns.

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions from concept to production.

  • Design and implement domain-driven, cloud-native data solutions optimized for performance, cost, and reliability.

  • Define and drive cloud data strategies, incorporating emerging technologies and AWS services.

  • Architect and implement event streaming, microservices, and serverless solutions using AWS-native tools.

  • Lead legacy system modernization and migration to AWS platforms such as RDS, Aurora, and Redshift.

  • Implement ad-hoc analytics using Athena and optimize AWS infrastructure for cost-efficiency.

  • Contribute to enterprise architecture governance, standards, and modernization initiatives.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-aligned strategies for senior leadership.

  • Develop metrics and scorecards to promote best practices in cloud development.

  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, security, and scalability.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, including cloud-native and legacy transformation.

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL, GraphDB, APIs, Kafka, and streaming technologies.

  • 3+ years of experience in application development, middleware, database operations, or security.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing AWS-native data solutions.

  • Strong background in domain-driven design and cloud migration strategies.

  • Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization technologies.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.

  • Technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferences:

  • AWS Data Architecture or Cloud Architecture certifications.

  • Experience in financial services, particularly wealth management.

  • Familiarity with SAFe or other Agile methodologies.

  • Exposure to data modeling and domain-driven design.

  • Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data lifecycle practices.

Pay Range:

$151,388-$252,313/year


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
