COMPENSATION: $135,000 - $155,000

DESCRIPTION:

At Zaden Technologies, our Principal Cybersecurity Engineers are instrumental in leading our initiatives to automate a smarter future through secure DevSecOps solutions. As a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you will provide expert guidance on cybersecurity and information assurance to ensure modeling and simulation tools are designed and accredited to function securely in both local environments and across various networks including classified environments. This role requires extensive experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and cloud security implementations.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead cybersecurity/IA efforts to ensure software solutions meet DoD security requirements across various classification levels (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS)
• Update and maintain documentation as described in MIL-STD 3022 to support continued accreditation of planning tools
• Guide software development teams in migrating desktop applications to cloud environments (SaaS) while ensuring proper security protocols
• Develop security protocols for networking, Validation and Verification (V&V), and certification while complying with RMF guidelines
• Recommend and coordinate Government-approved security design and process requirements for RMF identification in DoD IM/IT network spaces
• Prepare program protection plans using best system security engineering practices
• Provide regular training on secure software development best practices
• Mentor junior cybersecurity team members and contribute to the strategic direction of security initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 6 years specifically in DoD environments
• Expert knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD security authorization processes
• Experience with cloud security architectures and securing SaaS applications
• Demonstrated experience with security compliance for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, or JWICS
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development practices
• Experience with DoD IA documentation requirements and certification processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active security clearance
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field
• CISSP, CISM, Security+, or other relevant security certifications
• Experience with DADMS and NMCI certification processes
• Previous experience mentoring junior security professionals
• Experience in defense or space systems
• Knowledge of containerization security and Kubernetes security practices
• Experience with AI/ML integration into security practices
