Principal, Business Development (Asset Listings)

The Team

The Business Expansion (BE) function is Kraken’s inorganic growth engine, responsible for identifying and executing transactions that will accelerate the realization of our strategic vision. BE includes our Corporate Development, Business Development, and M&A Integration teams, who collectively work on M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, investments, and a range of other strategic initiatives.
Kraken is expanding its asset listings team to ensure we list even more high quality assets, while also enhancing the value derived from each listing.  To succeed in this strategic initiative, Business Expansion will be providing significant additional support, ensuring we build deeper partnerships with token listing teams, market makers and other key stakeholders.  If you have great network within the web3 industry and you are ready for a new challenge, check out below our role specifics!

The Opportunity

• Serve as the primary relationship owner for asset listings between the exchange and potential project teams, VCs and other industry stakeholders

• Represent Kraken on the topic of asset listings at industry events, conferences  

• Build an extensive network and maintain meaningful relationships to stay on top of key trends for crypto assets

• Lead the partnership process with new listing project teams, including term negotiation and deal execution

• Evaluate the pipeline of asset listing opportunities and make recommendations on which assets for the exchange to list

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, using these insights to inform strategic decisions and identify new opportunities

Skills you should HODL

• BA from a top-tier university; MBA a plus

• 8+ years of total experience, including 3+ years in the cryptocurrency industry, ideally in a business development role

• Highly experienced with Web3 projects and the token launch / listing process;, comprehensive knowledge of the overall crypto ecosystem, including insight on trending narratives, a deep understanding of tokenomics, and familiarity with current projects

• Exceptional analytical ability, strong attention to detail, and expert written / verbal communication skills – an ability to write clear, compelling presentations and memos and develop sound financial models is a must

• Exceptional commercial acumen and product instinct

• Proven track record of executing multiple high-value partnership deals, from origination through integration

• Based in EU/UK/NorAM preferred
