Principal Analyst
Tessera TherapeuticsAbout the role
Company Summary:
Tessera Therapeutics is pioneering Gene Writing™— a new biotechnology designed to offer scientists and clinicians the ability to write small and large therapeutic messages into the genome, thereby curing diseases at their source. Gene Writing holds the potential to become a new category in genetic medicine, building upon recent breakthroughs in gene therapy and gene editing while eliminating important limitations in their reach, utilization, and efficacy. Tessera Therapeutics was founded by Flagship Pioneering, a life sciences innovation enterprise that conceives, resources, and develops first-in-category companies to transform human health and sustainability.
Position Summary:
The Principal Analyst will be responsible for partnering with end users to identify technology needs to support data strategy and then selecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining a portfolio of functionality. Tessera uses technology that is central to the company’s recordkeeping and data capture strategy. Our mission is to provide a single, non-siloed source of data for all of our research efforts – from experimental design to computational analysis. Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to lead software design and implementation projects.
- Design software that is either home grown or a customization of off the shelf tools (such as Benchling, Tableau, Spotfire) by ensuring scientific needs are met, data strategy goals are supported, and the products align and can integrate with the overall digital ecosystem.
- Leverage software product design strategies such as design sprints, storyboarding, prototyping, blue sky thinking, interviews, surveys, etc., to identify use cases and gather stakeholder input.
- Drive all aspects of projects through the software development life cycle, including reviewing software requests with the team, initiating the project (documenting scope, identifying stakeholders, and analyzing and diagramming business process), planning the schedule, documenting requirements and test plans, and overseeing implementation.
- Develop and execute change management and communication plans for each project, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of the new product/software, know how to use it, and understand implications to their work.
- Lead product implementations by executing configuration changes, communicating code requirements to engineering teams, managing test plans, and driving migrations through a tiered environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS or MS/MA in business administration, information systems, bioinformatics, technology, or related field with 8+ years of industry experience is required
- Experience in product or software project management
- Experience with ELN and LIMS systems, preferably Benchling
