Pre-Construction Director – South West

Bristol | Up to £130,000 + Car/Allowance + Up to 30% Bonus + Package

£130k salary. 30% bonus. A team of 20. Major projects up to £200m.

A leading UK construction group is looking for a Pre-Construction Director to take control of its pre-construction function across the South West.
Based from Bristol and reporting directly to the Regional Director, this is a heavyweight leadership role with responsibility for a multidisciplinary team spanning Business Development, Pre-Construction, Design and Commercial.

The business delivers major new-build, refurbishment and repurposing projects across education, healthcare, commercial, leisure, cultural and public-sector markets, including significant framework-led work.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Director, you’ll own the front end of the regional construction business – from identifying opportunities and engaging with clients through to developing winning strategies and overseeing major tenders.

You’ll:

Lead and develop a team of approximately 20
Shape regional work-winning and pre-construction strategy
Drive client, consultant and stakeholder relationships
Identify and influence opportunities at the earliest stage
Lead project pursuit strategies and major tenders
Oversee PQQs, bid quality and tender governance
Bring commercial, design and delivery thinking together
Help shape the wider strategy and pipeline of the South West business What They’re Looking For

You’ll already be operating at senior pre-construction level within a Tier 1 or major main contractor, with the credibility to influence clients and lead experienced teams.

You’ll bring:

Experience leading major construction tenders – ideally up to £200m
Strong knowledge of public and private-sector procurement
Framework and collaborative procurement experience
Commercial and contractual awareness
Strong client-facing and leadership skills
Experience developing high-performing teams
Degree-level qualification or equivalent
CIOB or equivalent professional membership The Package For the right Pre-Construction Director, the package includes:
