Description

Professor Jackson Lu (www.jacksonlu.net) is seeking a full-time Predoctoral Technical Associate in the Work and Organizational Studies Group at MIT Sloan School of Management. The position duration is two years, beginning in the summer or fall of 2021.

This position is part of MIT Sloan’s efforts, in conjunction with PREDOC.org, which aim to build a pipeline of researchers currently underrepresented in business school PhD programs. Underrepresented students are strongly encouraged to apply. Please visit PREDOC.org for more information.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking academic research experience prior to entering a PhD program in organizational behavior, psychology, economics, sociology, data science, etc. Placement of past research associates includes Duke, Harvard, and Stanford.

The Predoc Associate will support all aspects of social science research, such as data collection (e.g., web scraping, lab experiments, field surveys), data analysis (e.g., advanced econometrics, machine learning, social network analysis, text analysis), and manuscript preparation (e.g., literature review, ideation, revision).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Advanced statistical and programming skills (R and STATA preferred)
• English proficiency (native/advanced)
• Conscientious
• Passionate about social science research
