Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Aerospace Engineering seeks a postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the research of the Advanced Flow Diagnostics and Experimental Aerodynamics Laboratory. This postdoctoral appointment will work in the following areas:
- To conducting fundamental studies related to aircraft/aero-engine icing and anti-/de-icing, unsteady aerodynamics, and bio-inspired aerodynamics.
- To assist the lab director in managing the lab daily operation and supervising graduate and undergraduate students,
- To write technical reports and publish research papers on both journals and conferences.
- To help the lab director on developing research proposals

Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or doctoral degree
Preferred Qualifications:
• PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Documented background in experimental thermal-fluid sciences
• Research experience on one or more of the following areas: experimental fluid dynamics and heat transfer; multiphase flows; low-Reynolds-number airfoil aerodynamics; active/passive flow control
• Hands-on experience using laser-based flow diagnostic techniques such as LDV, PIV and LIF
• Strong communication and language skills as evident by publications and a cover letter
